we love books & crafts

Our house is bursting at the seams with books!
Keeping them organized is out of the question with kids that love them as much as I.

Although we have an armoire full in the playroom, an ottoman full in the living room, and the bottom portion of Braxton's dresser full in his room - I have an ongoing list of books I want to purchase.

Due to this love for books, I decided to make book slings to help organize a few of the kids favorites.  I chose a modified hanging version of the kidkraft book sling, since we really can not afford to lose any floor space.

I LOVE how simple, child friendly and stylish these are...oh the possibilities.  More slings will be made - stacking/layering them for additional storage; and, when the kids are all in 'big kid beds', I plan to make one over the bed for easy access bedtime stories.

Oh, and young children love that the book covers are visible because they choose books based on the front not the spine.  Makes sense for pre-readers, huh?  Yes, I find my children using these often & they are able to put the books away, too! win-win.

Don't you adore them?

Amber - i used 2 double curtain rod brackets from lowes (the most expensive pieces)and 2 4ft dowels that i stained.

Brooke - I just looked at what you were talking about and she links to penny carnival. Yes, that is how I learned to hang them.
