love

when i was about 28 weeks pregnant with the twins, david stepped in to assist with braxton's bedtime routine (which was sad for me at first). it was hard not being able to bathe him, etc.. but i knew david would LOVE sharing this special time with braxton. i always kept my one on one rocking/singing time with him, but david also has his one on one time, too. we all enjoy this time in the evenings.
this in particular fills my heart with love and joy...

march 24, 2007

three years ago today, we found out we were pregnant with braxton. david and i both experienced an array of emotions (to say the least)
we had just married, were living in a duplex in downtown dallas, were planning a move to austin...needless to say, we were not "planning" to get pregnant so quickly.
it's an old wives tale that it will take at least three months after stopping bc pills!!! :)
our precious suprise gift from God!

Day Out with Thomas

Braxton enjoyed his day with Thomas. He jumped in the bounce house, played on the train tables, took a picture with Emily, ate nachos and a corn dog...and of course, we rode the train and got his picture taken with Thomas!!! Thank you, Gammie and Pops for such a fun day!!!!
Gammie watches Braxton bounce..in his official Thomas hat that she bought him.

Identical Celebration

After finding out that our girls are identical, my stepmom had the best idea! She said we should celebrate by going to dinner and ordering the same thing. I LOVE IT!
So my stepsister and I elaborated on that idea and told everyone to dress identical, too...white top with denim bottoms.
We chose a mexican food restaurant in Garland - a place we had frequented while I was pregnant. The owner's son has continued to ask about us since our last visit - Oct. 28th - the day before we left to drive to Austin.
We all ordered margaritas and the #16.
It was an awesome time!

these are the outfits i made for the girls, so they could coordinate with us...white strapless tops with denim 'skinny' jeans :)

playing in the backyard

this is one of his favorite things to do - play in the back yard
i am so thankful for the nice weather (so is he)
he is really becoming independent and will go outside and 'find' things to do

sound sleepers

the girls have been sleeping 8+ hours each night...we went in to check on them the other evening, and this is what we found. it's so cute when they do stuff the same or at the same time. (unless it's crying in unison)this melts my heart

chillin'

i love the looks on their faces!!!

chi o legacy

my little girls are chi-omega legacies! their cousins Kaci and Elizabeth (also chi-os) bought them these onesies! one of our symbols is the owl...their shirts say "i'm a hoot just like mommy"! they have another pink and brown owl outfit that is too cute - i will post it when they wear it :)

angel

i know i go on and on about how sweet, smart, funny and precious braxton is, but if you know him, you know it's hard not to praise him! we had a woman knock on our door on saturday to tell us about Christ, and she had her grand-daughter with her. braxton went to the door and asked the little girl to come in and play with his toys!!! normally the church workers don't say much...but this week they just raved about how well behaved and good braxton was. david said when he went to get him, he was helping other kids with a puzzle. he just loves kids. he is my darling angel.

sweet brother

people ask about braxton's role as big brother all of the time...they expect wild stories of jealousy and outbursts...but braxton is quite the opposite. he is so loving and sweet to his sisters! i catch him all the time going to lay with them or kiss them or touch them. just yesterday after their shots, they were crying and he said, sissys - i want to kiss my sissys. i am so proud of him! what a blessing he is to me and to ayla and evie. braxton, you are amazing!!!!

GREAT DAY

Today started out a little slow, frustrating and tiresome! But, I prayed about having patience and being the mother that God has called me to be... lo and behold the day turned around. Evie is now rolling over from back to tummy! Braxton pooped in the potty, again... these moments are few and far between. We got new cabinets installed in our bathrooms. AND...best of all... we received the twin test results! Ayla and Evie are IDENTICAL! This is what I thought all along, what I desired and what is!!! After researching information on twins, this is what I ran across. "Identical twins don't 'run in families' except by coincidence. No hereditary influence for identical twinning has been identified. Not caused by fertility treatments, birth control pills or maternal age. No one knows what causes identical twinning." Which means there is only one reason an egg splits - it's a precious gift from God. How blessed I am! ALL children are gifts from God, but this is truly an indescribable double blessing. What a great day!!! Psalm 118 vs. 24 "This is the day the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it."
(This is the song I sang to Braxton during nap, which was just before my day turned...God is good)
