Just precious

More Softball

Shayne, a high school friend and former baseball teammate of David's, joined him this weekend in a softball tournament. His children, Gage, Autumn and Conner were also there. Gage and Autumn loved holding and entertaining Braxton...and Braxton loved the attention.

Ella's party

Ella's birthday/going away party was today. Her family is moving to Morocco in less than a month...her dad will be teaching there. Anyway, she had a petting zoo at her party, it was awesome. Braxton also had a chance to hang out with his friend, Jack! Jack is 2 1/2 months older - and tends to be a little rough - but we don't mind :) Boys will be boys and they have to learn to be tough at some age, right!?! Don't worry, he wasn't hurt. He had a sad face for a minute, then I sat him back up and he was ready to go.

Learning to pitch...

Left handed, of course! Daddy is already instilling his love for baseball in Braxton.

More company & more sewing

My dear friend, Renee, came to visit today. We met when I worked in Round Rock, and we clicked immediately. She is considering having children and loves to help with Braxton and learn as much as possible about babies. Our hope is that we can both get pregnant at the same time - how fun :) Here she is helping with Braxton's quick bath after dinner. I also made two new 'things' this week...a pillowcase top for myself and a terry cover up for a little girl in my neighborhood. I am planning on making a few other adult tops and cover ups soon.

Oh, and I made another new sling! :)

baby braxton's buddha belly

Our First Date, A.B.

When Grandma (David's mom) decided to visit on Friday, we decided to grandma-nap her for the weekend. David's dad and papaw joined her on Saturday and Sunday. Of course, we wanted to see them and spend time with them, but we also had an ulterior motive....to go on our first date, after Braxton. Yes, it's been over 8 and half months since David and I have had a night out together without Braxton. We went to dinner at the Oasis on Lake Travis, and it was absolutely gorgeous. Although the food is not it's claim to fame, David and I fully enjoyed (and devoured) our bacon wrapped shrimp and pineapple salsa mahi. We had a wonderful evening!!! THANK YOU, GRANDMA & GRANDPA CHAPLIN.

Life

I haven't had a chance to blog lately, so I thought I would just lump everything together in one blog. This was our life this past week - more swimming (with Dan & Jack), more crawling, a new tooth, lots of company, baby proofing, and a ton of new toys.

Braxton in the buff

I'm pretty sure he will be upset about this later in life.

Texas

I love Texas, 'cuz Texas is always cool --- I love Texas, from my hat(cap) down to my boots(shoes) --- I still act, and look the same --- What you see ain't nothin' new --- I love Texas, 'cuz Texas is always cool!

(This is my version of Barbara Mandrell's "I was country - when country wasn't cool")

I am not sure how many of you know that we use cloth diapers when we are home during the day (which is almost always). But, here is Braxton learning to crawl & he is wearing our favorite diaper. It was a gift from the Cutlers! And, this past weekend when David's parents were in town they brought Braxton another new Texas gift...I wish I had converse like that.
