4 teeth

Work

I started back to work yesterday! I am tutoring at an elementary school near by on Tuesdays and Thursdays (8 -5). Grandma Chaplin is driving from Killeen to watch Braxton - that's an hour drive one way!!! I can't thank her enough. We all survived yesterday. I knew THEY would be fine. I was selfishly worried about ME and if I would be able to make it through the day... and I did. I didn't have after school tutoring yesterday, so I made it home by 3. It was a good day, but it was good to be home!!
Thanks, again!

Mesh

I had forgotten how much fun mesh can be!!!! Braxton figured this out yesterday. We all laughed and played for a long time.

Go Cowboys!!!

Just because we live in Austin now doesn't mean we have lost any love for our boys! We are still HUGE Cowboy fans...can you tell?

Crib toy

Mawmaw bought him his first crib toy, and I finally broke down and put it in the crib. Braxton is fully enjoying it!

Crash

I've tried to explain to you through this blog what a monster I have on my hands....here is another example.

David wakes up with us every morning, and as I go make Braxton's bottle, he gets Braxton out of bed and changes him! (Don't I have a great husband?) The other morning I hear a huge crash and run in to see what on earth was going on. Well, Braxton pulled the light fixture off the wall and onto his changing table!!! Thank the Lord he wasn't on it at the time.

David re-hung it and Braxton still thinks it's funny to kick at it. So as we left for church yesterday, it was half out of the wall. Matter of fact, after the Cowboy game last night, it came crashing down again!!!

Knot Head

Braxton often stands at the tub and says 'bath', because he LOVES to take a bath. He has also recently realized how much fun it is to open and close doors...so he decided to do both at the same time. Standing by the tub and opening and closing the bathroom door was going well, until he lost his balance. He fell directly on the the edge of the door and got this huge bruise and bump almost immediately over his right eye! It's just a green bruise now - he survived yet another injury. My poor little monster!

Swinging

Little Monster

Mawmaw and I saw this in the dollar section at Target a couple weeks back, and I HAD to have it! He wore this the other morning with his matching lime green fuzzi bunz. This is probably the best description of Braxton these days! Notice the two cuts on his nose??? We aren't sure where those came from or how they happened - but there are more injuries sure to come.

Pear Pie & Tie Dye

We visited Gammie and Pops this weekend and Hannah helped Gammie make pear pie! It was delicious.

Braxton wore his cute tie dyed onesie...which (I didn't realize) was Hunter's and then Hannah's! Apparently it was made at Gammie and Pops house about 8 years ago!

Rub-a-Dub Dub....

three monkeys in a tub!

Memories

Brittany, Chelsea, Kim, Abby and Brittany
I attended a very special wedding shower when I was back home. One of my former students & cheerleaders, Kim, is getting married next weekend in Vegas. Unfortunately, we don't have the funds to go, but I was thrilled to be able to make it to her shower and see some of 'my' other girls. Oh what fond memories they bring back to me. These were the same girls I taught at church and attended high school church camp with...they say I taught them, but really they were teaching me!!! Kim is a very mature and wise young lady, mature in her faith and a true inspiration to everyone around her. She will be walking down the isle without her father, as he passed several years ago, please pray for her on her special day! She finds strength, comfort and peace in the fact that he is in Heaven, but I know her natural/earthly self will be missing and longing for him. May God Bless you, Kim & Chris and your marriage.

Hook 'Em

There is a (necessary) short story to go with this photo! This is my nephew, Hunter. You've seen him in several posts on this blog...as he was my 'baby' before my son was born. If you haven't noticed, he is always wearing Texas Tech colors and clothes. His parents both attended Tech and are huge fans and have thus instilled this (wacky) way of thinking in their two children (poor kids).
Anyway :) Hunter was SO excited to see Braxton last weekend, he begged his parents to let him spend the night with us at Mawmaw's house. He didn't care that he didn't have dinner (Mawmaw cooked for him) or clothes to sleep in or wear the next day (other than his baseball practice clothes). Isn't he precious?
Moving on... the next morning he wanted to go to the grocery store with David but didn't have anything to wear. So, being the creative one, I told him to go put on his swim trunks, and I would let him borrow a shirt and shoes. (the colors even 'go') He came out and David HAD to get the camera. Right before he took this shot, Mawmaw (a Texas fan), told him to do the sign for "I love you"...which happens to look like "Hook 'Em"!!!
We will forever have proof that he is a Longhorn at heart---or at least it looks that way. Be sure to check out the flip flops. (aren't they cute?)

New toy...new troubles

Don't worry! He didn't hurt himself :)

He is a ball of energy these days, and always keeps us on our toes.

Thank you!!!

Thank you, Mawmaw,
for coming to stay.
Thank you, Mawmaw,
for helping me play.
I loved sitting with you
and watching 'The Boys".
Thank you for all of my
new food and toys.
Each time I see you,
I'm over the moon.
So, Mommy says she'll bring me
to see you real soon!
Until then I'll send
kisses & hugs, too
Don't ever forget how much
"I LOVE YOU"

Leaving prints

To clean or Not to clean???
(Not) That's right....little hand prints all over the refrigerator!!! Oh, the countless joys of motherhood :)
I am grateful for Braxton's grubby little paws! The refrigerator door gleams with proof of God's gift to me. He blessed me with a son, and he is able to stand and balance on anything and everything...leaving his mark along the way. I would never change this hand printed masterpiece for a clean refrigerator!!!

10 Months!

He is loving his independence and freedom! I have a big boy!
I guess Braxton's baby days are almost over :(
