Texas Rangers

Our first outing to watch the Texas Rangers! It was tons of fun - dollar ice cream and the kids received Kinsler jerseys...(which, by the way, is on our list of baby names)

girls?

At our 12 week visit on May 6th, we had the NT ultra screen sonogram done. This tests the fluid in the back of the neck to check for Downs. Both babies had great results!!! These two were moving like crazy, but the initial gender guess is 2 girls....possibly identical. It looked as though they were sharing a placenta, but my doctor said we will look more later. In most cases, DNA testing is done after delivery to confirm. So....we will wait until June 4th to look again at the genitalia. David is still holding out hope for one of each! Here is one of the best 3d pictures we received!!!

Vacation

This post is almost a month late, but better late than never!
My little sister, Megan, cheers for the Spirit of Texas all star level 5 team and competed with a full paid bid in the WORLDS cheerleading competition at Disney World. This is truly a world competition with teams from Thailand, China, Switzerland, Germany, Canada, Mexico, etc... Meg's team WON their division! She is a world champion cheerleader - pretty impressive!!!
This was our second trip to the Worlds competition in the past three years, so we knew we had to go again! This evening we went to our favorite restaurant in Orlando - Fish Bones!
I wasn't sure how Braxton would do at a "fancy" seafood restaurant, but as you can see, he did just fine. He loved the peel and eat bbq shrimp! Of course, David had to peel them :) I think he ended up eating 6 jumbo shrimp, bread, crab, and a few bites of steak.

Arboretum

bluebonnets

Last year Braxton couldn't sit up on his own for the bluebonnet photos, and this year he wouldn't sit still :) Here is what we got on our way to the Dallas Arboretum. I knew it would be a long hot day, so I was pleased with these.

Pedicure for Mom....and Braxton!

My mom so graciously wanted to give me a long overdue pedicure one Saturday morning, and Braxton thought it looked like too much fun to miss out.
So, he joined right in :)
Both pedicures ended beautifully! Thanks, MawMaw!!!

He is Risen!

FYI, this is my favorite holiday! For most people it seems Christmas is the top choice, which I must agree is a fantastic celebration. Easter is my favorite not only because of the wonderful weather, special times with family, gorgeous colors, and new 'spring-time' life....but because of the new life Jesus gives to all those that believe!
Easter represents the suffering, death and RESURRECTION of my Savior. HE LIVES! What could possibly be a better celebration than the new life of our Lord? Christmas is wonderful - Christ was born. But Easter is when He overcomes sin and death, which is the only way we are saved! "...and by His wounds we are healed" Isaiah 53:5 (also 'Healed' is a beautiful song by Nichole Nordeman)
THANK YOU, JESUS!

8 week visit

Currently, I still visit my OB in Austin. He and his staff are absolutely amazing, and I am having a hard time walking away from the comfort of their warmth, knowledge, reassurance and love. There is a special bond formed with your doctor throughout pregnancy and is strengthened with the delivery your first child! So, until necessary, I will continue my trek to Austin each month for my pre-natal care.
Our first appointment (8 weeks) was on April 6th. During the sonogram, we saw 2 babies!!!! That's right, we are having TWINS. We were (and to some degree still are) shocked. Excitement and nervousness are the top two emotions to date. Enjoy the early ultrasound pictures. Our next appointment is May 6th...I will update then :)

Expecting!

After trying for about 7 months, January and February we decided to use an ovulation kit. It was not successful in January, and when I went back to my OB for a pap, he said to continue with the kit 3 more months and if not successful, we would try a new med similar to clomid. I found out on March 6th that David and I are expecting, again!!!! We were (and are) very excited and it was hard to keep the news a secret. We waited 12 weeks to share the news about Braxton, but this time we started telling family at 5 and a half weeks. The following are a few pictures of family finding out. I wasn't able to get a picture of everyone - I wasn't even able to tell everyone myself....long story! But, here are a few good reactions.

We told David's parents on St. Patrick's day. Dad brews his own beer, and I knew I would not be able to join in the festivities, which would be an obvious sign! So, we filled them in by making Braxton a shirt that reads, "I am going to be a big brother".

We told my Dad, Nita, Erin and Megan at lunch on March 28th....they were already suspicious, but we still caught them off guard a bit. When the hostess was about to take the picture, David said, "Everyone say Summer's pregnant!" (Sorry to my little man who got cut out of the picture!)

Baseball

Braxton loves baseball and is good at it, too! Don't let the purple bat fool you :) Prepare for many similar posts....this is how many of his hours are spent.
