Nodding & Shaking

Braxton learned early on how to respond to yes or no questions by nodding and shaking his head. This video is of him shaking his head no - I will try to get one of the nod soon! He is a funny guy. This was about 2 weeks ago, so now he uses the word 'no' frequently....a little too frequent for my taste. Have I told you that he is obstinate? I think that's an understatement! It shouldn't be hard for me to get that on video :)

Self feeding

He doesn't do this often, but he is exploring spoons and their MANY uses! This particular day, he actually wanted to use it correctly! I would guide his hand, but he did all the work and actually ate this entire meal feeding himself!!!

Chair

Braxton needed and wanted a chair to hang out on/in while he watched his shows, so I made one.
Ok, it's a little ghetto, but he didn't mind.
I've been wanting to buy him an "anywhere" chair from Pottery Barn, but who am I kidding...I can't afford that! They are approximately $120 + tax + shipping/handling, etc...
I've searched and searched (even craigslist - my favorite), but I have yet to find anyone selling a lounge chair for children. So, I finally found one at walmart and it was 1/3 the cost of the pottery barn chair. I must say, it's adorable. Braxton loves it, too! Here he is watching Barney. (Yes, the songs run through my head all day & all night)

Puppies

I think he misses he puppies!
This one's for you Bevo, Lulu & Nicki!!!!

Cars

I've always wondered how boys know to play with cars and girls play with dolls?
Did their parents teach them?
Is it one of those gender traits that God intentionally designed to make us different?
Well, it must be the latter.
Braxton loves these cars, and he doesn't just play with them by rolling them around on the carpet. He makes sounds and then he crashes them together!!! I am certain that this was not learned, so it must be a God given gift :)
Boys are weird!!!
Between the legs - what a talent!

Ready and waiting to go outside and play...
It was one of those crazy Texas weather days
Thank you to the Moss' for this awesome camo jacket!

Happy Dance

Here is the usual happy Braxton. He loves to dance and is improving & adding to his skills repertoire daily. (a future post with new moves is to come

Rare

It is very rare for Braxton to cry uncontrollably! He barely sobs when he is injured and mostly he whines when he doesn't get his way (beware terrible 2).

But, here is a video of him after a nap last week. He cried for ten minutes non-stop, so I figured I would share with you all - the rare unhappy side of Braxton. The sad part was after I turned off the video... He leaned over to play with the truck and nailed his head against the end table, which resulted in a massive knot. That was when he STOPPED crying. Poor baby :(

Proud Daddy

Braxton's first Texas ball cap! (Thanks Mawmaw)

Daddy couldn't be more proud :)

Christmas...again!?! Yes.

Christmas in Killeen was the second weekend in January...we waited until David's brother and his wife were able to join us. Braxton opens gifts (food) from his stocking. Grandma really knows how to steal his heart! He doesn't think Aunt Jenifer is very funny as she pretends to eat his favorite - cheese puffs. Papaw shows him how to open his singing card and also how to light up the candy box. Their expressions are always the same - and look at Braxton holding his finger...it melts my heart.

Lounging in Papaw's chair & lounging with Dad! Playing with new blocks and playing peek-a-boo with Grandma!
What a fantastic Christmas!

Texas Fight!

Braxton's ready for the Fiesta Bowl; he is confident Texas will win! (and they do)
Thank you to the Cupples for this oh-so-cool jogging suit!!!

Balloons

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings to watch Tech (lose) in their bowl game on Jan. 2nd. We went to support my Dad, Nita, Megan and Erin who are all huge Tech fans. Braxton loves all the big TVs and sitting up high at the bar tables...but he loves getting to take home a balloon the most. I swear, a balloon can keep him entertained for over an hour!!!

Braxton and I went to the playground together one gorgeous afternoon, and I just couldn't stop taking pictures of him. His facial expressions were priceless with each new discovery. I couldn't choose which pictures to post so I created the slideshow. I hope you get as much joy from watching this as I did watching him.

Cousins

This group is my paternal cousin's (Cam & Matt) children, so Braxton and his second cousins. We are now expecting 2 more cousins from Kaci and Elizabeth in June and August. Unfortunately, Tara and her family were unable to make this gathering!
Taylor, Reagan, McKinley, Madison
Harrison
Mason is one of my maternal cousins' child. He and Braxton are only 6 weeks apart.

Isabella (Vincent's sister) was the hostess. Sliding is SO cool!

Christmas

Our Christmas was very hectic, as usual. After waking at 6am with Little Man, we made breakfast and headed to my sister's house. Hunter and Hannah (with mom and dad's help) had gone through ALL of their old toys and given them to Braxton. Needless to say, we could barely get them all in the car. Next we went to Grandmother's Christmas lunch (my step-dad's mom). We ate and visited with family for an hour or so, but it was time for our next destination...Pops and Gammie's house (my dad and step-mom). There we stayed for three hours - where we took a few pics.
Then it was time to make the trek to Killeen to see Grandma & Grandpa (David's parents). Although we didn't have our official Christmas (scheduled for Jan. 10), we had so much fun talking, drinking home brew, cooking and playing games. On this trip we also headed over to the Palmisano's for a quick play date. Vincent and Braxton are 2 weeks apart - compare the picture from last Christmas to this Christmas.
Becky is on the left with Vincent. Her mom, Brenda, is holding Braxton.
