photo shoots

sometimes i wish i could take photography classes and afford a really nice, which usually equates to really expensive, camera. but, i will just enjoy being a mother who stays home and uses her decent camera to capture really amazing children!!!! enjoy some of our most recent shoots. my subjects are fabulous. Happy New Year

I let Braxton stay up until Daddy got home on New Years Eve.  We played with Alphie and watched a movie.  David made it home from work early this year! 9pm.

All of our children LOVE to be outdoors, and that's an understatement.  So, as usual, we headed outside to wait for David to arrive.  I warned Braxton that it was cold, but he insisted....that lasted about 1 minute before he returned indoors and wanted a jacket & slippers.

Listen carefully, Braxton is saying, "Ding, ding, ding, happy new year!"
We wish you the best new year, yet!

just playin'

The root of my joy, sorrow, patience(or lack of), anger, love, frustration, peace, happiness...all here in photos. God gave me some incredible children! I can't believe he trusted me with these beautiful souls.  What tremendous blessings they are!!!!

Merry Christmas!

Our final celebration was an entire day of opening and enjoying gifts.  Again, we were ALL spoiled to the extreme!  It's been a while since I've said this, so I will say it again.

I am so grateful for the family that I am married into. They are kind, funny, generous, supportive, loving, gracious and MINE.  (of course there have been, are and will be rough patches - but they are FEW and far between - this family is putting up with me none the less.)

I love you all very much and can't tell you just how much you are appreciated!!!! You have been a wonderful blessing to me.  Thank you for my husband and all of the qualities you instilled in him. He is an excellent husband and father, provider and lover.(get your minds out of the gutter)

Jesus' birthday!

David's family arrived on Christmas Eve evening! While they were here, we still had the children open our family Christmas gifts first on Christmas morning at 6am (the usual).

Christmas Eve

Today we celebrated Christmas with my dad, stepmom, and sisters.  My Granny was in town, too, so my uncle ken and granny were able to come over as well.  Fortunately, they live in Garland so we had a short drive...which means more time to visit.  My stepmom planned a scavenger hunt for the older kids - Braxton's first time to participate. It was fun.  He was shocked that as he arrived to each new destination that there was a gift waiting for him! (I told you - sweet)

We all went in on a gift for the folks. First we had them open an hdmi cable - they looked a little confused (just like i had hoped).
then my brother in -love brought in their REAL gift! Yea - shock & awe.

Christmas on the 23rd! (Christmas Evie)

My sister and her children named the 23rd after my darling baby, Christmas Evie...the eve of christmas eve.
Although we heard someone else calls it Christmas Adam, because Adam came before Eve....pretty cute...but we'll stick with Evie.
We celebrated our first family Christmas with my mom, stepdad, sister and her family on the 23rd. Tradition of candlelight service at Lakepointe, followed by dinner and gifts continues. We were blessed to have everyone at our house! This year's dinner was the yummy cajun crab boil: shrimp, crab, sausage, potatoes and corn!

The girls received clothes, books, chairs and dolls! Braxton received a marshmallow 'blaster', alphie (his learning buddy - he says), trains, toy story 3 movie, books, and clothes.  Braxton truly loved each gift - several comments were: "this is for me?", "i love it", "it's so beautiful", "these are MY presents?". He is such a sweet boy, wild and crazy sweet boy :)

We were ALL spoiled - and this was just the beginning! Two more Christmas celebrations to go.
